Star Fist can be upgraded by using Smithing Stones.

You can make a decent 125 build using these weapons on both fists, 60 Vig 80 Str and Cragblade Ash of War.
With 60 Arcane under Blood or Occult infusion, Star Fist offers higher physical damage output than the Spiked Caestus at the cost of slightly lower bleed buildup.
