These OP moments cemented Thomas Andre’s reputation as a national level hunter in Solo Leveling.
Thomas Andre is a popular character in Solo Leveling, infamous for being the strongest hunter in all of America. Fans may find him unlikable at first due to his strong personality, but his undeniable charisma makes him impossible to ignore. Plus, he has the power to back up his arrogance, unlike most of the characters.
While Thomas Andre has yet to show off his abilities in the Solo Leveling anime, the novel and the manhwa are there to give fans a masterclass in why he is one of the strongest hunters in the world. Let's appreciate Thomas Andre and respect his OP moments in this article.
Thomas Andre is a good judge of character. He knows exactly who’s weak and strong, due to his accumulated combat knowledge and experience. His instincts never fail him, making him confident and arrogant at the same time.
On that note, when Japan was on the brink of destruction due to the appearance of an S-rank gate in Tokyo, Thomas bet his entire guild on Jinwoo while the other hunters mocked him for his arrogance. However, he knew that Jinwoo had the power to clear the dungeon break, so he had the last laugh.
Thomas Andre is one of the few hunters in Solo Leveling who has the guts to put an S-rank hunter like Hwang Dong-Soo in his rightful place. As the leader of the Scavengers Guild that recruited Hwang Dong-Soo from Korea to America, Thomas is responsible for overseeing Hwang’s actions and decisions.
For most of Solo Leveling, Thomas Andre has never failed in giving Hwang Dong-Soo a taste of his own medicine. His strong words and statements are just enough to tame Hwang, forcing the latter to follow whatever he wants him to do. In Thomas’ presence, Hwang is forced into a state of submission, enduring whatever lecture comes his way.
The International Guild Conference arc showed just how fast Thomas Andre is when it comes to tracking down both Hwang Dong-Soo and Sung Jinwoo. These two have been fighting for quite some time, with Jinwoo dominating the exchange, so time is running out for Hwang Dong Soo.
While the rest of the members of the Scavenger Guild scatter across the city to search for leads, Thomas moves with terrifying speed and efficiency that allows him to find Hwang Dong-Soo and Sung Jinwoo as soon as possible. Unfortunately, no matter how fast he was, it was too late to save Hwang.
Thomas Andre was one of the five S-rank hunters who subjugated the Red Dragon Kamish years before Sung Jinwoo became a player in the System. Kamish is no ordinary dragon, as he was an S-level dungeon boss and a servant to Antares, the Dragon Monarch.
Long story short, Kamish caused widespread devastation in America, where Thomas Andre resides. Hence, it’s an impressive feat that Thomas was able to survive Kamish’s wrath while others perished. Not to mention, Thomas also obtained the dragon’s sharp fangs, which he later turned into a powerful dagger.
Thomas Andre is an absolute force of nature, so he deserves to play a crucial role in Sung Jinwoo’s ultimate plan against the Monarchs in the Final Battle Arc. He may have nearly died against Rakan, but he still joined the fight against Tarnak, teaming up with Bellion and Beru wholeheartedly.
Tarnak, otherwise known as the Monarch of the Iron/Steel Body, faced the group of Thomas Andre, Bellion, and Beru. Together, they defeated Tarnak and his forces, proving just how powerful a ruler’s vessel and two shadows can be.
The Beast Monarch, Rakan, was Thomas Andre’s next opponent after fighting with Jinwoo in the International Guild Conference Arc. Still fresh from the hospital, Thomas did not back down against a higher being like Rakan. Instead of running away from the fight due to his sore injuries, he never hesitated to stand up against the Beast Monarch.
More impressively, Thomas even overwhelmed the Beast Monarch with his strength. He initially had the upper hand in the fight until Rakan got mad and serious. Unfortunately, Thomas lost another fight, but that doesn’t make him less of a warrior. He remains a powerful contender, but his body has yet to recover from the injuries he sustained from fighting Sung Jinwoo.
Thomas Andre is one of the few hunters who fought Jinwoo and survived to see another day. He went toe-to-toe with him, exhausting all his powers and abilities to defeat the opponent. However, even after he went all-out with his Reinforcement and Spiritual Body Manifestation, Jinwoo emerged victorious.
Even so, it’s rare for someone to survive a fight with Jinwoo, but Thomas Andre did it anyway despite his broken bones. He may have lost the fight, but he still showed a phenomenal display of power against Jinwoo that no ordinary hunter can simply pull.
