Amazon Prime has announced its free games for May, revealing that Fallout 3 (and all of its DLC) will be one of the PC games subscribers can grab at no additional cost later this month. Just in time for new fans brought into the fold by the Fallout TV show, Amazon has announced that Fallout 3: Game of the Year Edition on PC will be free to download starting May 9 if you are an Amazon Prime subscriber.
This version of the popular Bethesda open-world RPG features all the post-release DLC, including the wonderful Point Lookout and its spooky swamps. Even better, you’ll be able to actually download and own this copy of Fallout 3 (via a GOG code) and play it on your desktop PC instead of having to stream it.Previously, to help market the Fallout TV show last month, Amazon began offering Fallout 3 and New Vegas for free to Prime members but only through its streaming, Stadia-like service known as Luna.
I tried playing New Vegas through Luna and it was a laggy, pixelated mess, even with a high-speed connection. Plus, no mod support! So it’s nice to see Amazon giving away a non-streaming version of Fallout 3. Hopefully, New Vegas will come next month. Meanwhile, starting today, Prime members can grab Lego Star Wars 3: The Clone Wars and Tomb Raider: Game of the Year Edition for free on PC.
Here’s the full schedule for the month of May. To grab any of these games, head over to Amazon Prime Gaming’s site and make sure you are logged into your Prime account and claim the games you want. .
